COLOMBO, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- A group of 20 dogs belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Dog Unit attended the passing-out ceremony at the SLAF Base in Katunayake on Wednesday.

According to the SLAF, this group includes 20 dogs imported from the Netherlands, comprising five Belgian Malinois, five Labrador Retrievers, five German Shepherds, and five English Springer Spaniels.

The group is specially trained as sniffer dogs in detecting drug trafficking and would be deployed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) nearby Colombo and Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA)in Mattala.
